iPad Scrolling error

Nearly every developer had this problem before. You made a beautiful responsive Website. Maybe a few years ago. Now your customer calls you and says „it is not working on my new iPad“.
To fix this error there are a few possibilities:

  1. Doctype: Make sure that your Doctype is HTML5, valid and test if the site is working. If this does not work check if you have problems with positions in relative, absolute and fixed.
  2. Viewport: Look in the head of your Site. Do you find the meta viewport in your source code? If not you should include it!
    <meta name="viewport" content="initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=1">
    <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"><script type="text/javascript">
  3. Old JavaScript and Javascript errors: For older devices you needed something like touchscroll.js or iscroll.js If you have iscroll.js included you should remove it and test again. If you have Javascript errors: Fix them. Most Problems should be solved.
  4. iframe Problem: IOS7 has an reported scrolling problem in iframes. here are some solutions to fix it
